The Bennachie Heart Appeal
The Bennachie Heart Appeal project launched in the spring of 2019 with the aim of raising funds to purchase and install a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) for the benefit of visitors to Bennachie and the wider local community; and also to raise awareness of how to use this life saving piece of equipment. Thanks to the support and donations we received, a fundraising event and a British Heart Foundation grant we installed the equipment outside the Bennachie Visitor Centre in August 2019.
However, buying and installing the equipment isn’t the end of the project as funds will continue to be needed to replace batteries, pads and, should the worst happen and the kit is stolen or lost, a whole new machine.
Since the project began, visitors to the Bennachie Visitor Centre have supported – and continue to support us in lots of different ways, and to everyone who has bought a T-shirt, keyring, badge or car sticker or made a donation we thank you.
The British Heart Foundation grant also enabled the Bennachie Visitor Centre to have a number of ‘Call, Push, Rescue’ training kits and we’ll running a series of informal practise sessions for the public – keep an eye on our events for dates and further details.
